Rangghar, the registered Socio-cultural organisation based at Barpeta, Assam has over the years made significant contribution to the society by having taken up many a social and cultural programme. Our wide range of activities has made Rangghar a familiar name in Assam. The following brief will throw light on our various activities and programmes and tell why we have became a name to reckon with.
Campaigning against social evils like AIDS and Drugs is a responsibility we have shouldered with much aplomb. Also, in association with Assam state unit of Bharat Vikash Parishad, we organised a free artificial limb and caliper camps in many occasions at Barpeta. Our social activities, such as helping the flood-marooned people, taking up cleaning campaign of the Barpeta Civil Hospital were also widely acclaimed.
Rangghar was awarded “Jyotirupa Media Award” in 2006 for its outstanding contribution in the field of arts and culture as well as its services to the society.
We have also created a theatre space called Rangghar Arena, a first of its kind in Assam for the purpose of regular theatre activity.
We at Rangghar, have only contributed precise little towards the society and culture of Assam since Rangghar came to being (1979). But we have vowed to be instrumental in a big way towards the development of culture and society as whole in the years to come.
